As I said in my engagement post, this wedding was planned for May, but because Jamie and Griffin wanted a fall wedding and a FIRE(!) we decided to move the date up to November. Mom and I spent the last three weeks talking wedding. What would the yard look like? Did Jamie want to do this or that? I’m pretty sure we changed out minds about EVERYTHING at least twice 🙂 But in the end, it was PERFECT!
Jamie’s dress was perfect, Griffin’s suit (which he bought from J.Crew and had altered to fit him perfectly) was perfect, the yard was perfect and the WEATHER was PERFECT! Mom worried about and checked the weather forecast hourly for 10 days straight. I’m pretty sure they predicted everything but snow for Sunday, November 14. But we got a beautiful, sunny, 70 degree day – it was meant to be!
The day started early 🙂 Jamie’s sister, Jessica (seen below wearing her adorable black-headed baby named Cameron) did Jamie’s make-up and her friend, Sara, aka Sage, did Jamie’s hair. Perfectly. In between photographing the getting-ready process, we hung the wedding finery outside in the tree — isn’t it the coolest ever?
Because we think doing a First Look is the sweet way to go, Jamie and Griffin saw each other for the first time (all dressed up) outside under the tree. It was such a sweet moment!
For once it didn’t matter if my hand was in the flower pinning shot 🙂 Isn’t Griffin handsome? I truly LOVE a perfectly fitted suit! And cool shoes.
Jamie is drop-dead gorgeous! Or as Griffin said, “Babe, you look AWESOME!”
See how sweet?
I dragged Casey out to the house way early so she could take family pics for us — don’t we all look nice?? And yes, I’m wearing jeans. And I’m the only one wearing jeans, but I thought it was going to be COLD so I didn’t get a skirt and I still can’t fit into my normal dress pants, thanks to Lucy….
Oh, I love sweet collages like this! I tell you, the fall light is so pretty 🙂
The ceremony, which wasn’t finalized until that day, went perfectly. As everything else did. Simple, sweet and perfect.
Jamie and Griffin, I wish you the best 🙂
