1. Through Facebook and a very nice photo chick (that’s you, Frankie Wylie!), I was given a plastic sandbox! Right this minute, Jeremy and Henry are outside scrubbing it clean and filling it with sand 🙂 Lucy got to sit and play in the sand yesterday (at mom’s house) and she was quite funny about it. For photos check out Caroline’s blog. Henry loves the sand! I can’t wait to plop both kids in The Box while I read the iPad — but that’s probably just a dream… Probably I’ll have to use diggers and buckets and spoons and play right along with them!
2. Tomorrow’s wedding is at the BILTMORE! I AM SO EXCITED! Truly, I can’t wait! And I get to eat and drink coffee at this cool place.
3. I took the kids swimming the other night. All by myself. Not sure how I feel about that – the all by myself part! Lucy LOVED it; she kicked and splashed and smiled! Henry wanted to LOVE it, but he really wasn’t comfortable floating around the pool with out holding onto someone and I couldn’t really hold onto him and Lucy at the same time. I think I’ll get Lucy a cool little float since she liked the water so much and then I can help Henry become a little more comfortable in the water while wearing some floaties. For about two minutes, I took some photos. I just couldn’t help myself 🙂 Erin had found this swimsuit for Lucy at the Gap when it was still cold out and I just couldn’t wait for Lucy to wear it!
4. I’m not sure what happened over the last few years, but I think I sorta forgot to make a conscious effort to learn. I’m tempted to blame it on parenthood, because it certainly changes life, but it could be that I became complacent with life and photography. But lately, I’ve had a huge desire to learn. Period. I don’t care what I’m learning about, although, I’ve been learning quite a bit more about photography, I just realized how much I missed learning. I missed reading, I missed sharing what I’ve learned and I’ve missed the satisfaction of trying something new and realizing that I can do WHATEVER I put my mind to!
p.s – the necklace that Lucy is wearing is the amber teething necklace that we bought at Treehouse. I have to say that it’s working! She hasn’t been fussy or bothered by her mouth since I put it on her! And she’s gotten a tooth since then!!
