If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a hundred times… working with the same people on a regular basis is my absolute favorite. I’ve been working with this family for 12 years and I don’t think we’ve gone more than a year without seeing each other for photos. Some years we see each other 3-5 times! And this is one of those years as we capture Millie’s first year ❤️

The biggest reason that I love seeing the same people in front of my camera time after time is that I LOVE the level of comfort that everyone reaches when they see me often. My camera goes from being a little nerve-racking to completely normal. I can converse and shoot, I can tell everyone what to do and how to sit together without anyone feeling uncomfortable or getting weird on me when my camera goes to my eye. IT MAKES THE BEST PHOTOS. I absolutely love the casual, easy, comfortable feel you get when this happens!

Since I think a lot about preserving the now for our future generations, I think it’s so nice to be able to capture images of how people really look, the smile in their eye, the easy way they have with their kids, their natural comfort level they have with their own body. It all tells a subtle story 🥰
